Bodegas Caro ist aus einer Begegnung zwischen den Domaines Barons de Rothschild und Nicolas Catena Zapata entstanden. Das Weingut CARO hat eine Fläche von 8 ha und liegt in Altamira, im Uco-Tal, südlich von Mendoza. Die Weinberge sind auf 1100m über dem Meeresspiegel auf dem alten Schwemmlandbett des Tunuyan-Flusses gepflanzt. Auch Gualtallary auf 1250m mit Alluvialböden, sandig mit Schluff und kalkhaltig auf Kies und San Pablo auf 1350 mit alluvialen sandigen Lehm mit Schluff flach, Steine in der Tiefe, Anwesenheit von Kalkstein.
